This year we have been a few days in New York fashion week, but they have been quite intense and busy. Always running from one place to another trying to get to the sites on time, avoiding traffic jams taking the subway, changing my look twice a day to go according to each event, few hours of sleep per day… but it was worth it because we enjoyed it so much and we love this big city!

The weather at the beginning of September in the big apple is unpredictable, one day it can be unbearably hot, with a high percentage of humidity, and the next day the temperatures drop drastically to the point of needing to warm up. I never remember this when packing, perhaps because my head is still in summer mode :P, and at the end there are always a couple of days that I’m cold and wish I had kept a coat and a pair of boots. Luckily, at least this year, I packed my favorite pair of jeans that saved me more than a day of not being cold even when I was wearing a summery top. The look that I show you today is an example of this and a perfect option for mid-season days that I hope inspire you for this month. I’m wearing extra long wide jeans, a long sleeve crochet top, transparent sandals and my new AKRIS Alexa tote bag in Scarlet which I can’t be more delighted about, it’s the perfect accessory for my daily and airport looks, which are not few, it has a large capacity and a simple and beautiful design that elevates any look. Este año hemos estado pocos días en la semana de la moda de Nueva York pero han sido bastante intensos y ajetreados. Siempre corriendo de un lado para otro intentando llegar en hora a los sitios, evitando los atascos cogiendo el metro, cambiándome de look dos veces al día para ir acorde a cada evento, pocas horas de sueño al día… pero ha merecido la pena porque lo hemos disfrutado mucho.

El tiempo a principios de septiembre en la gran manzana es imprevisible, un día puede hacer un calor insoportable, con un alto porcentaje de humedad, y al día siguiente bajar las temperaturas de forma drástica hasta el punto de necesitar abrigarse. Nunca me acuerdo de esto al hacer la maleta, quizás porque mi cabeza aún esta en modo verano :P, y al final siempre hay un par de días que paso frío y desearía haber guardado un abrigo de entretiempo y un par de botas. Menos mal que por lo menos este año llevaba conmigo mi par de vaqueros favoritos que me han salvado más de un día de no tener frío en las piernas aunque por arriba fuera un poco más desabrigada. El look que os enseño hoy es ejemplo de ello y una opción perfecta para los días de entretiempo que seguro que os sirve de inspiración para este mes. Llevo vaqueros anchos extra largos, top de crochet de manga larga, sandalias transparentes y mi nuevo bolso tote en color rojo de AKRIS con el que no puedo estar más encantada, es el accesorio perfecto para mis looks de diario y de aeropuerto, que no son pocos :P, tiene una gran capacidad y  un diseño sencillo y bonito que eleva cualquier look. Sin duda es un bolso de lo más versátil que no pasa desapercibido.

Keeping up with the rhythm of trends… and music. Nobody has been able to forget. Those pictures of Kate Moss enjoying Glastonbury music festival which flooded the Internet by the beginning of 2000’s decade are so based in our cultural imagery that settled the bases for a whole new way of dressing: the festival look that later developed its own collections signed by the best brands. Where there’s a festival there’s a special edition, and they always succeed because getting dressed to have a good time (specially during the summer) sounds always like a good idea. Three trends of the season fit the festival spirit and, if you follow their rhythm, you can never get lost.

The most important one is presented by Natasha Ramsay-Levi and Chloé, Jonathan Anderson for Loewe and Julien Dossena at Paco Rabanne and it consists in the traveler look. Full of boho spirit, you can master it if you think in adding to your wardrobe little treasure finds from all over the world. Picture this: a denim jacket, a tie-dye t-shirt, a pareo style skirt, a pair of sandals from Marrakech’s zoco and the kind of earringls and bangles (anklets are non-negotiable) that sounds like music. In the second place comes the crochet, this time with a refined upgrade but still romantic as proposed in Oscar de la Renta, Altuzarra and Michael Kors Collection. Last, but not least, it’s the easier and fresher option. Even we tend to think in a multicoloured palette when it comes to festivals, you should try the monotone neutral look, because it definitely works beyond the office. You’ll find inspiration in Givenchy, Chanel and Max Mara’s collections.

Al ritmo de las tendencias… y de la música. Nadie las ha olvidado. Las imágenes de Kate Moss en Glastonbury que corrieron como la pólvora por Internet durante los primeros 2000 forman parte hasta tal punto del imaginario colectivo que sentaron las bases del código de vestimenta para acudir a un festival y dieron pie a que las mejores marcas elaboren colecciones especiales asociadas a las citas musicales clave de cada verano. Donde hay un festival hay una edición especial que siempre funciona porque pocas cosas generan tanta emoción como vestirse para pasar un buen rato. Este año no solo una, sino tres de las tendencias de la temporada son perfectamente aplicables a este tipo de eventos, y al ponerlas en práctica no cabe margen de error.

La más importante viene de la mano de las propuestas de Natasha Ramsay-Levi en Chloé, Jonathan Anderson en Loewe y Julien Dossena en Paco Rabanne y es el look de la viajera. Cargada de espíritu boho, consiste en ir incorporando a tu armario esas piezas que parece que has ido descubriendo en distintos rincones del mundo. Piensa en una cazadora vaquera, una camiseta con print tie-dye, una falda tipo pareo, unas sandalias adquiridas en el zoco de Marrakech y esos pendientes y pulseras (la tobillera no es negociable) que vienen con su propia banda sonora. La segunda se construye a base de crochet, pero esta vez en clave ligeramente refinada como en las colecciones de Oscar de la Renta, Altuzarra y Michael Kors Collection, aunque no pierde un ápice de romanticismo. La tercera es la más sencilla de pasar por alto porque al pensar en un festival imaginamos automáticamente la más amplia gama de color. Pero construir un look en tonos neutros como el crema o el caqui es un acierto más allá de la oficina. Encontrarás la inspiración en las colecciones de Givenchy, Chanel y Max Mara.
